Meldrum Bar Park

 

85.37 Acres. Located off River Road – Meldrum Bar Park is a regional facility, used year round by fishermen and boaters and receives heavy use during the spring, summer and fall by organized baseball, softball and soccer leagues. The portion of Meldrum Bar Park along the Willamette River is improved with a boat ramp and floating dock, potable water, portable restrooms, and a parking lot for boat trailers. Above the ordinary high water mark is a small picnic area, community gardens and a twelve acre sports field complex with four soccer fields, five softball/baseball fields and permanent restrooms. There is about a mile of paved bicycle/pedestrian paths in Meldrum Bar Park. About 30% of the park is in natural vegetation, including a large wetland. 

Park Hours: Gladstone Parks are open to the public daily from one hour before sunrise through one hour after sunset.

Parking Fee: The City of Gladstone has introduced a parking fee at Meldrum Bar Park for non-residents. Funds for this parking fee will be used to help pay for park maintenance and improvements. A daily parking pass or annual parking pass can be purchased at the fee station (credit/debit cards only) that is located at the entrance of the park. Once you arrive at the fee station, select "PURCHASE PASS" and select if you would like to purchase the daily pass for $3.00 or an annual pass for $40.00.

Gladstone Residents May Obtain a Free Parking Pass: Residents of the City of Gladstone can obtain up to 2 free parking passes by visiting City Hall, 18505 Portland Ave. Bring a government issued ID as well as a piece of mail showing your name and current Gladstone address. If you are not sure if you are a City of Gladstone resident, you can search for your address HERE.

Using Your Annual Pass: To use your annual pass, please proceed to the pay station, select the option "USE PASS" and use the credit card reader to swipe your annual pass. This will then print you a day use ticket to be displayed in your window. If you wish to skip the pay station, you can trade your annual pass card for a hanger at Gladstone City Hall, 18505 Portland Avenue.

Picnic & Parties at Meldrum Bar Park: Reservations are not required to reserve covered shelters or picnic tables at the park for a picnic or birthday party – picnic tables and covered shelters are available on a first come, first served basis. When using the park (or any city park), residents are advised that inflatable jumpers, such as bouncy houses, and climb on play equipment, such as rock climbing walls, are not permitted. 

Ballfields at Meldrum Bar Park: Reservations, fees and certificate of liability insurance are required to reserve any of the soccer or softball/baseball fields at Meldrum Bar Park. 

Community Gardens: Gladstone Community Gardens are located in Meldrum Bar Park along the scenic Willamette River. This land is leased by the City to the Gladstone Community Garden Association, who is responsible for administering garden usage. The gardens are one of the older, and larger, community gardens in the Portland Metro area. The gardens cover nearly 5 acres and comprise 134 separate garden lots. Gardeners help maintain the area and work with the City of Gladstone to keep it neat and productive.
