POSITION: Building Site Monitor

DEPARTMENT: Gladstone Community Center

HOURLY RATE: $16.75 - $20.36/hour
3% COLA increase effective July 1

CLOSING DATE: Open Until Filled


Responsible for monitoring the Gladstone Community Center during rentals, programs, and afterhours use. Ensures safe, clean, and compliant use of the facility while providing customer service and operational support to renters and the public.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Works under the direct supervision of the Community Center Manager or designee. 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

None.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Opens, prepares, monitors, and secures the facility for scheduled use.
  2. Unlocks and secure entry points according to event schedules.
  3. Reviews rental agreements to understand event timing, setup, and requirements.
  4. Conducts pre- and post-event walkthroughs to ensure facility readiness and condition.
  5. Monitors building use and enforce facility policies and rental agreement rules.
  6. Serves as on-site contact for renters; provide guidance and answer questions.
  7. Assists with room setup and takedown including tables, chairs, and basic equipment.
  8. Resets rooms to standard configuration following events.
  9. Provides basic audiovisual assistance including projector and TV setup, connectivity, and troubleshooting.
  10. Performs light custodial duties including trash removal, surface cleaning, and spill response.
  11. Monitors restrooms and common areas for cleanliness and safety.
  12. Ensures all doors, windows, and equipment are secured at closing.
  13. Completes reports and communicate event outcomes, incidents, or concerns to supervisor.

Specialized Job Duties

  1. Assists renters with use of facility technology including projectors and televisions.
  2. Supports event flow and address minor issues during rentals.
  3. Ensures compliance with kitchen and facility use policies.

PERIPHERAL DUTIES

Performs any other related duties as required or directed. QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1 year of customer service, facility monitoring, or related experience preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
