The Metro Future 50-year Vision is a long‑range planning effort by the Portland region’s Metro government to create a shared roadmap for how the region should grow and thrive over the next five decades. It focuses on shaping future decisions about land use, transportation, housing, climate resilience, and economic opportunity, all guided by extensive public input. Launched in 2025 and running through 2027, the project aims to build a community‑driven “north star” for how people in the Portland metro area will live, move, and prosper far into the future. The Gladstone Arts Fair is this Saturday June 6, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Gladstone Community Center, 1050 Portland Avenue. The community arts event is hosted by the Gladstone Oak Lodge Rotary Club in partnership with the North Clackamas Guild, there will be local vendors, and a family-friendly atmosphere.
Gladstone City Council Meeting The Gladstone City Council will have its regular meeting on June 9th at 6:30 pm in the Gladstone City Council Chambers. Here is what is on the agenda: The Mayor will recognize LGBTQ+ Pride Month and Juneteenth, reaffirming commitments to equity and belonging. Water Environment Services will present its Annual State of the District, outlining how wastewater and stormwater systems are performing and how they’re preparing for future growth.
Council will consider approving a 2026 update to the solid‑waste rate structure to maintain stable service with Gladstone Disposal, and consider adopting residential development code changes that align with state requirements while also exempting Adult Foster Care homes from home‑occupation rules to expand caregiving options in local neighborhoods. Gladstone Music on the Greens kicks off on Friday June 12th at Max Patterson Park. Beth Willing- is an Oregon singer-songwriter with folk, rock, and Americana influences. Music begins at 6:00 pm and Smokin’ John’s Barbecue Food Truck will be on site at 5:30 pm. This is a free outdoor summer concert series that will also be on Friday July 10, Friday August 14, and Friday September 11, 2026.
VIP Rose Planting Ceremony Portland Rose Festival Foundation- Gladstone resident Jeremy Emerson, who is completing his final year as Board President of the Portland Rose Festival Foundation, has offered to host a small public Rose Festival ceremony in Gladstone on June 13, 2026 at 9 am. The Royal Rosarians—the Festival’s long‑standing ceremonial organization—will plant three VIP roses honoring the current Rose Festival President, the Portland Rose Society President, and the Royal Rosarian Prime Minister. The event lasts about 20–30 minutes and typically includes 10–20 Rosarians in formal attire, brief remarks, and photo opportunities. The Mayor and City Council have been invited to attend and he hopes to place a small commemorative plaque near the planting site.
Gladstone Summer Recreation Program: With school out next week, you will be looking for activities to keep your children happy and busy. Consider having them attend the City of Gladstone hosts an annual Summer Recreation Program that runs from June 17 to August 28. Activities include games, sports, crafts and the like - designed for all ages to participate. Parent or guardian participation during events is required. Gladstone Juneteenth Celebration- returns to Max Patterson Park on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 2:00–6:00 PM. This free, family‑friendly event honors Juneteenth, and will feature guest speakers from the American Civil Liberties Union. The afternoon will be filled with music, food, history, and community connection. Neighbors can look forward to live performances, local vendors, kids’ activities, and opportunities to learn and celebrate together in a welcoming, uplifting environment. It’s a chance for Gladstone to come together, and recognize a powerful moment in American history through unity, culture, and celebration.
