The City of Gladstone Event Sponsorship Program is now accepting applications! This program is designed to support the development, marketing, and enhancement of festivals and community events in Gladstone. The goal is to help small businesses, non-profits, and community groups create or improve events that build community connections, promote local commerce, and engage residents in arts and culture.
Funding & Requirements
- Maximum grant: $2,500 per event
- 1:1 cash match required from the applicant
- Organizations may apply for up to four Community Event Sponsorships per year
- Total program funding: $15,000
Program Objectives
- Benefit local businesses and the community
- Support well-managed, sustainable events that build social capital
- Maintain accountability to taxpayers
- Ensure transparency in awarding funding
Eligibility & Guidelines
- Open to non-profit organizations hosting events that are open and accessible to the public
- Applicants must have community support and be able to demonstrate readiness to organize the event
- Events must align with the Gladstone Tourism Strategy and contribute to vibrant, visitor-friendly experiences
- Liability insurance required: $2,000,000 per occurrence / $4,000,000 aggregate, naming the City as additional insured
- A brief report on the event must be submitted within 30 days after completion
Application Process
- Applications accepted starting February 1, 2026, until funds are fully allocated or December 31, 2026
- Applications must be submitted at least 45 days prior to the event via email: gladstonebusiness [at] ci.gladstone.or.us (gladstonebusiness[at]ci[dot]gladstone[dot]or[dot]us)
Eligible Costs
- Marketing & promotions (graphics, printing, postage, advertising)
- Event fees (venue/equipment rentals, permits, insurance)
- Supplies, equipment, and security
Ineligible Costs
- Alcohol, cannabis, or smoking/vaping supplies
- Personnel or administrative costs
