Teen Takeover | Ages 13–18
Teen Takeover is a new pilot program at the Gladstone Community Center designed just for teens ages 13–18. This is a relaxed, welcoming space where teens can come together to hang out, connect with friends, and enjoy being part of their community in a safe environment.
During Teen Takeover, teens can play games, ping-pong, do crafts, listen to music, enjoy snacks, or simply hang out. There is no structured programming—this time is intentionally open and flexible so teens can unwind and spend time together.
When
Every 2nd and 4th Saturday
6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
This is a six-month pilot program.
What to Expect
Teen Takeover is designed to be low-key with minimal oversight. A volunteer site monitor will be on-site, but teens are expected to take responsibility for their behavior and the shared space. Our goal is to offer teens a place they can truly call their own, and that depends on everyone treating the space and each other with respect.
Youth Expectations
• No drugs or alcohol
• Be respectful to staff, volunteers, and others in the building
• Treat the facility, equipment, and fellow participants with care
• Follow all community center rules
Respecting these expectations is essential so that Teen Takeover can continue and grow.
Have Ideas?
We want Teen Takeover to reflect what teens want. Participants are encouraged to share ideas, suggest activities, help plan themed nights, or get involved in shaping the program. Teens interested in contributing ideas or getting involved are encouraged to contact us.
Teen Takeover is about creating a safe, positive place for teens to gather, connect, and feel welcome—and we’re excited to build it together.
